West Nile Virus 01

Southeastern Idaho Public Health has confirmed a mosquito pool in Bear Lake County has tested positive for the West Nile Virus.

The health district says that it is the first time the virus has been found in Bear Lake County.

It is also the first confirmed positive pool in all of SIPH's eight counties so far in 2021.

When outside, officials remind you to take precautions such as using insect repellant, wearing long sleeves and pants, and making sure you have good screens on doors and windows.
