A student made a chilling threat directed at Firth High School earlier today.
At 7:30 AM a text message was sent by a student to a staff member that someone was going to go to the school and shoot students.
The Superintendent then called the Sheriff's Department and all three schools in School District 59 were locked down.
All students going to school on busses were dropped off at the middle school and the student who made the threat was located on one of the busses, taken off by the Sheriff's Department, and brought to Blackfoot to be questioned.
Sid Tubbs, School District 59 Superintendent said, “We felt like everybody did a pretty good job of following our procedure. The Sheriff's Department did an excellent job, our staff did an excellent job, especially the bus drive of that particular bus she did a great job for us and we were able to keep everyone safe."
Schools were locked down for less than 45 minutes and the incident is still under investigation.
