There are a total of 11 people running to be the next governor of Idaho in 2022. Nine of those are republicans who will be facing off in the primaries next May. One of those candidates, Ed Humphreys, stopped by the KPVI studios

Humphreys has lived in eastern Idaho and the Treasure Valley working a variety of jobs, from the oil fields to financial advising. He was selected as a delegate for Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention and has served as both Precinct and Region 4 Chairperson for the Idaho Republican Party.

"I think there can really be unity in any organization or any state government especially in Idaho when we are able to cooperate for a shared vision and I have a vision to implement with school choice right and supplement our school system with a robust network of charter schools and private schools and allow tax dollars to follow students to the school of their choice,” explains Humphrys, “abolishing the state income tax is something that I think a lot of people in the state find compelling. So those kind of bold, agendas I think will allow the legislature and the executive branch to coalesce.”
