Local City Votes Unanimously on Face Covering Resolution

A local city votes unanimously on a face covering resolution.

The Pocatello City Council voted on Thursday night to adopt a resolution encouraging all citizens to wear a face covering.

The city council also encourages people to ‘heed the advice’ of local health and welfare and the CDC recommendations and guidelines.

Pocatello City Council member Linda Leeuwrik says the council previously voted against a city ordinance or mandate on face coverings.

“The issues come more with concerns of enforcement.  Our police, our attorney’s have concerns about passing a law that is unenforceable and just feel that, that it’s just not necessarily a good idea.  We could be creating a lot of trouble for our police.  The community is very divided over the issue of a mask ordinance,” says Linda Leeuwrik, Pocatello City Council.
