Construction is moving forward on the Northgate Interchange.

The City of Chubbuck is finishing up the Fort Hall Main Canal Utility Crossing at the intersection of Siphon Road and Hiline.

This bridge will allow Siphon Road to extend to the Northgate Interchange and it is set to be finished this week.

The goal is to relieve congestion in Chubbuck and open up the northeast section of the city to opportunities for more development.

But the city's $5 million dollar project still has more construction ahead.

"We have the reconstruction of the intersection at Hiline and Siphon Road, that will be a four legged intersection, now signalized,” shares Rodney Burch, the City of Chubbuck Public Works Director. “And then as we progress east from there we have new construction all the way to the I-15 and Northgate Interchange."

The entire Northgate Interchange Project is set to be finished this fall.
