UPDATE:

We have an update on that fire in Fort Hall that forced evacuations Friday afternoon.

The fire has been contained to 15 acres. Crews are working on restoring power to homes in the Ross Fork area.

Two homes were completely destroyed and another home was damaged.

One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion and is now in good condition.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

ORIGIONAL STORY:

Around 2:15 Friday afternoon, a wildfire was reported in Fort Hall near Ross Fork Creek Road.

Multiple agencies including Bureau of Land Management, Pocatello Fire Department crews, North Bannock County, Chubbuck, and Power County have been called in to assist.

Due to the strong winds, the fire is growing and threatening buildings. One building has already been burned by the fire. People in the area are being evacuated from their homes.

One firefighter is being treated for heat exhaustion.
