ORIGINAL STORY: A Pocatello funeral home is under investigation for what police call "suspicious circumstances."
Pocatello Police confirmed they served a search warrant on Downard Funeral Home on Friday.
According to Pocatello City spokesman, Logan McDougall, the search warrant is related to a decomposing body found at the funeral home Thursday night.
The Pocatello Police Department said it is working with the Bannock County Coroner's Office, Bannock County Prosecutor, Ada County Coroner, Southeastern Idaho Public Health and the Idaho Board of Occupational Licenses.
A spokeswoman for the Ada County Coroner also confirmed their office sent a refrigeration truck to the funeral home to help with body transport.
Officials have not yet released any additional details on the investigation but they are asking the public to avoid the area out of respect for family members related to loved ones at the funeral home.
PPD also said any family members with concerns can appoint one representative to leave their contact information with Pocatello Police at 208-234-6100 and an officer will contact them when more details are available.
