Daybell/Vallow Hearing September 8, 2021

Both Lori and her husband, Chad Daybell, had a status hearing today. Judge Steven Boyce now has a progress report on Lori’s treatment and based on the report from health and welfare, determined she is still not fit for trial. The judge extended the order of commitment for another 180 days, at which point they will have another status hearing.

As for Chad, he was in attendance for the Zoom hearing with his attorney John Prior. Judge Boyce said based on several motions that still need to be heard, counsel waiting for grand jury transcripts, and a lot of discovery, a November 8th trial would be tough.

Some motions that still need to be heard in the case are change of venue and a motion to sever– to not try Chad and Lori’s cases together.

Lori and Chad are both facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder in the deaths of her children JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, as well as Chad’s late wife, Tammy Daybell.
